The Obra Social Leste Um – O SOL is a nonprofit institution whom since 1965 has promoted and encouraged humanistic development through Brazilian culture and crafts by offering:
- Technical craft education
- Updating and enhancing techniques and practices used by craftsmen
- Facilitating distribution of crafts though permanent fairs and stores

Arts and Craft Fair/ Store
An important exhibition and retail space for works by apprentices of Obra O SOL and Brazilian craftsmen, to promote and support the use of crafts as well as craftsmen, create a marketplace for enthusiasts, and strengthen the sector.
A distinct space that allows students theoretical and practical experience, addresses relevant processes, markets, design, product framing, price setting, marketing, exposure, and commercialization of products and works.
Seeking to improve the engagement and dialogue of craftsmen from vast regions of the country, O SOL estabalishes relationships various related institutions, including, Cultural Association of the Friend of the Edison Carneiro Folklore Museum (ACAMUFEC).
